Whew! I took up the challenge to write 31 days. By no means did I blog each day for those 31 days. However, I choose to not quit.
This week’s silence has much to do with the unexpected stressors of life. But in a still moment this weekend, I realize that this gives me life.
This space shared with you is a wonderful adventure.
This empty canvas to paint upon is where my heart is free to express.
If there is one thing I have learned through this challenge it is that I am wired to write. Some days I would sigh looking at the academic paper I knew I had to write before I allowed myself to write in this place. Why?
Because my heart was yearning to share with you. It was desiring to create something authentic.
We must feed the artist within, otherwise he slumbers and dies with lost potential. Between the work hours, the obligations, the housework, the meetings, the school work we must fight to keep the artist alive in us.
There is a message stored up in each of us. And listening ears are waiting to hear. Seeing eyes are waiting to gaze upon the beautiful expression.
What is the message you carry? What is the artful expression about to explode out of you?
May your unique expression stir so violently in you that you cannot ignore it any longer. May we be brave to let loose the artist within. And may we take the time to encourage others to not look like anyone but who they were meant to be.
May we reflect the image engraved on our hearts.
I stumbled upon this neat little video this evening. It was a subtle reminder to me and felt it fit well here on Day 9.
What we “feed” is what we reflect.
What struck me the most is that which we try to ward off and wage war against often times increases. There is something to be said about letting things go. For me, the art of letting go often entails an honest confession before a very understanding Father. What about you?
My we deal the rest of the week with each wolf appropriately, so that we may gain a greater awareness of ourselves.
A little light,
Nerves be calm.
Dreams find rest.
Desire laid up,
Moments in stillness.
Somedays there are not many words. Despite our volume, we reflect our inner fights.
When we turn to Him in the midst of our battling, He is faithful to show that He is right beside us fighting on our behalf.
What is your outward behavior reflecting about your inner state of being? In an honest still moment would you let Him see? He is faithful to show you something in return.

31 That’s a wrap!
Here I go again, attempting with thousands of others on the internet to write consecutively for 31 days on the same topic.
This go around will be interesting for sure. Grad student, busy body keeping clients happy, ministry school student. The roles can be a bit overwhelming at times. But at my core what are the burning desires? The roles that if I were to not fulfill, a piece of me would be in angst. These roles are birthed out of a relationship with the one who is Love. Writer, Artist, Revivalist, Daughter, Sister.
In an attempt to feed (and hopefully you can do the same) the inner spinnings of my spirit, here is space for you and I to explore for 31 days, Reflections. I’m more than thrilled! I hope you will join me on this journey.
We take a look back to remember, to learn, to restore. We reflect. In the deepest parts of us we have mirrors hidden within our souls covered by dusty blankets. What are these mirrors meant to reflect? We look upon the waters of a vast lake and we see the heavens kiss the earth as clouds dance upon the ripples. It is but a mere reflection.
What is in your heart and soul spinning around waiting to be revealed?
Maybe, you too, would like to take up the challenge and write for 31 days. Click on the link to discover resources and helpful tips. You have until Oct 5th to link up with people from all over who are taking up the challenge.
In my way home I discovered the Tarlatans. I was listening to the radio as this song reached out and grabbed me:
“If I’m dreaming, I might be missing right now.” I’m a dreamer. And to dream is good because we venture to places and potential yet inhabitat within and with out when we do so. But if you are like me I know when my soul feels unsettled and its time to return to the here and now.
Now is full of color and vibrant just as the future. But often times it seems dull and gray because we forget to live in the adventure and abundant opportunity of the present. It’s all we are gaurenteed really. Now. Right now, may we have grace to see what’s around us with fresh eyes.
I’ll leave you with one more from the Tarlatans:
